This publication featuring the RETeval device confirmed that people with schizophrenia have significantly different ERG responses than healthy controls, replicating the group’s earlier study.  Further, sufferers of major depressive disorder can be differentiated from schizophrenia as their ERG responses are similar to healthy controls.

Schizophrenia patients have significantly reduced amplitudes (see front page Abstract and Discussion on page 6, second paragraph), while MDD have a very subtle changes, closer to healthy controls than to SCZ.

As both patient groups need different therapy approach, this would be a great addition to other tests.
